Finding Pride

In Finding Pride, the It Gets Better Project sits down with LGBTQ+ celebrities, activists, and everyday people to learn how life got better for them. The videos begin with someone confronting a crisis such as questioning their gender identity, deciding whether to come out to family and friends, or experiencing intense discrimination. However complex and seemingly insurmountable the crisis, the hero emerges, coming out, finding a community that supports and loves them, and learning to embrace their authentic selves.

Overview

The Finding Pride: Official Discussion and Activity Guide takes a look at 33 compelling true stories stories divided into six themes or lesson plans. Each lesson includes a variety of questions and activities to explore. It’s perfect for a GSA group or club meeting, during family night, in a classroom, or anywhere inclusivity is encouraged. It’s intended for those in middle or high school, but can be adapted for audiences of all ages.
