Thank you so incredibly much for your work on the curriculum guides for both THE POST and SCHINDLER’S LIST. Because of Journeys in Film’s meaningful and important work, education begins and continues even after the credits stop rolling. Your curriculum guides allow students across the globe to connect personally to themes such as truth in democracy and fighting antisemitism and xenophobia. I hope that we can continue to work together to provide resources that empower educators to teach these difficult, but necessary topics.

I have served as Journeys in Film's national spokesperson since its inception, and I clearly believe in its effectiveness as an educational tool for teaching our youth to value, appreciate, and respect the cultural diversity in our world. The powerful use of films as a teaching tool cannot be underestimated, and Journeys in Film has succeeded in creating the first and only film-based curriculum integrated into core academic subjects. I encourage you to participate in the Journeys in Film program either as a student, educator, film studio, or financial supporter.

I am proud to have been an Advisory Board member with Journeys in Film since its inception. They share my commitment to foster social and academic growth by turning powerful films into interdisciplinary lessons that enhance core subjects and teach students to distinguish reality from stereotypes. Teaching with such films fosters understanding and empathy for cultural and racial diversity. My hope is that Black filmmakers will continue to represent ‘our’ history in all its complexity and that Journeys in Film will continue to help teachers bring this rich diversity in their classrooms.

The Amazon Aid Foundation is honored to partner with Journey’s in Film to produce the curriculum around our film “River of Gold.” Journey’s in Film’s expertise to develop an interactive standards-based curriculum has been a powerful and critical tool for Amazon Aid to engage students worldwide to learn about the Amazon Rainforest and take action to protect it.

In today's ever-changing, ever-surprising global economy, everything flows so easily across borders-ideas, capital, products, people, and even problems. This brings international issues to Americans' doorsteps and makes cultural understanding a necessity for young people, just to navigate their neighborhoods, let alone compete for the jobs of the future. "Knowledge work" is growing in importance, and there are millions of increasingly well-educated English-speaking graduates from other countries - India, China, Europe - seeking the best jobs anywhere. Schools must rise to the challenge of improving basic skills while enlarging horizons, broadening perspectives, and teaching about the whole world. Journeys in Film provides the means to explore other cultures virtually, to gain the knowledge and skills for effective relationship-building, at home or abroad.
